Profile

Entering his 30th year of advocacy, Steve retains his enthusiasm for crossing swords with prosecutors in court and his passion to win cases. From murder to threatening behaviour, every case is prepared and presented on the basis that it is the most important thing in the client’s life.

Steve has been with FMW Law since 1997, having spent 14 years at a previous firm, where he ran a branch office.

Key cases

R v B – represented the Senior Tax Partner at a major City solicitors’ firm re allegations of multi-million pound fraud.

R v S – represented an England footballer at summary trial on domestic violence allegations, securing an acquittal.

R v Mills – Judicial Review of magistrates’ decision to convict despite the lack of essential evidence, based on information in the case management form. Court quashing the conviction and reaffirming (at least for the time being) that the prosecution still needs to prove its case by evidence.
